PC - Home of the Master Race

I have a ton of consoles. Old, New, In between. So I consider myself a fair judge when it comes to the whole PC/Console debate. Quite honestly there is no better experience than gaming on a PC. The graphics, the glitches, the bugs that cause you to crash to desktop because of shitty video drivers. Delicious.

The bulk of my PC games are in digital format, and the bulk of those are on Steam. Steam Sales, bundles, and trading have garnered me a pretty collection on there and you have to love the convinience of the distribution platform. I can't say enough about it.

Origin, Desura, U-Play, I'm on all that shit. I despise them.

Microsoft Xbox One / Xbox 360 / Xbox

Xbox One I love this thing. I absolutely do. It looks sexy, everything is smooth, runs like buttah... This is what my livingroom was waiting for. The Playstation 4 is an amazing piece of hardware, but the box has my heart.

Xbox 360 I'm sure that Microsoft loves idiots like me. There are currently three Xbox 360 systems in the house. One in the livingroom, and one at each of our desks, just a button press away from awesome. I obviously prefer to play it on the big screen in the living room.

Xbox I also have an original Xbox sitting on the same stand, but I’m fairly sure it hasn’t been fired up since I got the 360. I'm guessing at this point it's just missing the sweet tingle of electricity. This was, however, the system that brought me not only Forza Motorsport, but the ability to listen to my own music when playing it.

Sony Playstation 4 / Playstation 3 / Playstation 2 / Playstation / Vita / PSP / TV

Playstation 4 Bloodborne. No seriously. Just Bloodborne. (Oops, and Dragon Quest Builders)

Playstation 3 We wanted a Blu-Ray player. We also wanted a way to play Folklore and Uncharted. For the most part it sits under a wee layer of dust, waiting for me to have time to load up some of the incredible RPGs that came out for this system. Which as of now may be a day that never comes.

Playstation 1/2 I loved the playstations. I remember fondly many many many hours put in on these machines. Sony has always had a wonderful system. For a long time there it was the only system for RPG fans. We still have a couple Playstation 2 systems laying around, and an original Playstation to boot.

PSP I was possesed by the spirit of an angry racoon and for some reason it made me purchase a PSP. I have never picked this unit up past the first week just to spite him.

Vita Despite my experiences with the PSP the Racoon (This time one named Brooke) was once again able to convince me that this was an amazing handheld and something I just couldn't pass up. I now pass it up daily from it's spot on the bedstand beneath it's very own layer of dust. It's a really nice system, but I just don't do well with handhelds.

Playstation TV It's a vita that traded it's screen and controls for a hdmi output.

Nintendo

Nintendo Wii U / Wii / Gamecube / 3(DS) / Super Nintendo / Nintendo

Ahh Nintendo, you magnificent bastards. What can be said about them everyone doesn't already know?

Wii U was bought solely for the sake of playing Monster Hunter 3. I kid you not, the game was good enough to buy the whole system. I have hopes for more great games after this years E3, but this system is having a hard time gaining traction despite the loyal following. Have faith.

Wii We do have Nintendo’s little white Wii sitting next to the 360, and while I appreciate where it was trying to go I’m not sure it has enough going for it to hold my interest at all. It was a gaming system that I just had to have, and enjoyed for a while until the newness wore off. Now it sits there unused. Even WiiFit could only keep it fired up for a day or two.

Gamecube To be honest this system is there only for the sake of the collection. I was never a big gamecube player, having spent that console generation with the Playstation 2 for the most part.

SNES / Nintendo We do own these systems, and some games for them, however I sadly don't spend much time with them. I did however lose my innocence to the hotel sex scene in Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode.

(3)DS Interestingly I mentioned above that I purchased a Wii U for the sake of playing Monster Hunter 3. They put out the 3DS version the same day. You likely see where I'm going with this. The 3DS was an upgrade to my DS, which I then replaced with the Zelda Special Edition, giving the old one to Rachel. Were I to travel as much as I used to I would love this little thing. However since my life now consists of work/home/work I don’t get any time to use it. I skip most of my lunches at work so even that isn’t an option. The system itself is great though, and I love the games for it. We've had a lot of fun with the Pokemon games. And Bravely Default is amazing.

Other / Mobile

Genesis Back in the day I was almost pure Nintendo / Super Nintendo. One title on games from both was Shadowrun. The one on SNES was good. The one on the Genesis was sent by the good lord of gaming to spoil those who believed.

Ouya Kickstarted it because it seemed a brilliant idea at the time and I wanted very much to support it. I have now supported it to the tune of having played almost a full hour on it before pulling the HDMI cable out of the back and putting it back in the PS3

iPad Fuck this thing. It reads books and checks work emails like whoa.

And just for giggles my cell phone upgrade path.

Motorola StarTac -> Razr -> Tilt -> HTC Fuze -> OG Droid -> HTC Thunderbolt -> Samsung Galaxy Nexus -> Samsung Galaxy 5 -> LG G3 -> LG G4 -> Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge
